Privacy Policy — Android app

This page covers the PageVeyor Android app only. Google Drive storage, the drive.file scope, and the fact that no data passes through PageVeyor servers are described in the privacy overview, which applies to both products. For the browser extension, see the extension policy.

Data you provide

PDF files you select in the app
PDF page images and extracted page text used for AI analysis
Questions and answers in the Q&A panel
Page notes in compact, detailed, and translation modes, including your edits
Document summaries and study artifacts generated in the app
Cloud AI provider API keys you enter
An OpenAI-compatible base URL and custom model name, when you configure them
Google account authorization, when you enable Drive sync
An on-device model URL and an optional SHA-256 value, when you use on-device inference

Storage on your device

PageVeyor keeps the following in app-private storage on your Android device:

Copies of recent PDFs
Page markdown notes in every mode you have generated
Q&A conversation files
Document summaries and study artifact files
The last page position you were reading
A temporary cache of extracted PDF text
Downloaded on-device model files
API keys and provider/model settings

On-device models

If you use on-device inference, PageVeyor downloads model files from the URL you select and stores them on your device. The default on-device path uses LiteRT-LM .litertlm model files. Legacy and experimental paths may also use GGUF model files and optional mmproj files. These files are used only for inference on your device — nothing is sent to a provider in this mode.

Cloud AI providers

If you select a cloud AI backend instead, PageVeyor may send the relevant page image, extracted text, generated markdown context, document-level retrieval evidence, study prompt content, and your question to the provider you configured:

Google Gemini API
OpenAI API, or an OpenAI-compatible endpoint you configure
Anthropic API
Qwen/DashScope-compatible endpoint
Z.ai API

Requests use your own API key and go directly to that provider. Google Gemini is available only when you choose that provider and enter your own key.

The app includes an action to report an AI result, which opens an email draft to the support address. A report you choose to send should include the page number, the problematic output, and the supporting evidence from the original PDF.

Google Drive sync

If you sign in and enable Drive sync, PageVeyor stores page notes, Q&A records, document summaries, and study artifacts in a PageVeyor folder in your Google Drive. With cloud library sync enabled it may also store library metadata and original PDF files there — for example under PageVeyor/PDFs and PageVeyor/Markdown — so the same documents can be restored on another signed-in device. Deleting your data

You can clear all app data from Android system settings. The app also provides in-app controls for deleting your API key, the current PDF's data, Q&A history, page markdown, study artifacts, recent PDF entries, downloaded model files, and a full local cleanup.

Data synced to Drive lives in the PageVeyor folder in your Google Drive and is controlled by your Google account. To remove it, delete that folder in Drive and/or disconnect the app from your Google account. Future versions may add in-app Drive cleanup.
